Podcast: Vet Glen Dupree on fast-acting homeopathy on the farm.

July 27, 2010 - farmers can use homeopathy for livestock healing and long-term health care

A 1982 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Glen Dupree began his career as most vets did – anchored in the fundamentals of conventional medicine whereby you treated symptoms with medicines – most of them synthetic. Several years into his practice, he realized he was treating the same animals over and over again for similar ailments. It was then that Dupree decided to explore alternative approaches to animal health care. After years of investigation and implementation, including courses with Dr. Richard Pitcairn and numbers of other homeopaths in the US and abroad, Dupree’s practice is grounded in homeopathy – a type of health care based in principals of innate wellness, treatments derived from nature, and long-term health. He was certified by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy in 1996.

Today, Dupree has a practice in St. Francisville, Louisiana, teaches, writes and speaks to wide-ranging audiences. He manages an information-rich website, Homeopathy for the Animals, and his book, Homeopathy in Organic Livestock Production, was published late last year. Dupree also offers webinars – seminars delivered over the Internet – for farmers and pet owners.

Dupree admits that many people are mystified by homeopathy, but stresses its effectiveness.  He states that homeopathic treatments on the farm can be as fast-acting as any conventional medicine, yet the homeopathic approach is not about just treating a symptom. He maintains that the homeopathic approach is about strengthening the overall health of both the animal and the herd.

This interview with Dupree was recorded live earlier this month on my show, Deep Roots Radio, in the studio of WPCA Radio, Amery, Wisconsin.  I hope you enjoy it.
