For example, to sell meats across state lines, the animal must be dispatched and butchered at a federally-licensed plant. That can increase the final cost of the cut if the processor is hundreds of miles away. Fortunately for Dave and me, we have a terrific USDA-licensed plant within 30 miles. This not only helps with costs, but really benefits the cattle because they're saved the stress of long travel.</div> <div><br /> </div> <div>As for the raw milk issue.
